This Privacy Policy explains how Fammetry ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our services at fammetry.com, admin.fammetry.app, app.fammetry.app, and kiosk.fammetry.app. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the UK GDPR, EU GDPR, and relevant US privacy regulations.

1. Who We Are

Fammetry is a family organisation platform operated as an independent product. For data protection purposes, we act as the data controller for information collected through our services. Contact us at hello@fammetry.com for any privacy-related enquiries.

2. What Data We Collect

Account data: When you create an account, we collect your email address and encrypted password.

Household data: Family member names, display avatars, date of birth (optional), colour preferences, and role (adult/child) that you provide when setting up your household.

Usage data: Tasks, chores, grocery items, calendar events, and notifications created within the app.

Device data: Browser type, device type, and IP address for security and fraud prevention.

Children's data: We collect minimal data about child profiles (name, avatar, star count, date of birth if provided). This data is entered by the parent/guardian and is never used for advertising or shared with third parties.

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your data to any third party.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (UK/EU GDPR)

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL) hosted on AWS infrastructure in the EU West region. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit using TLS/SSL encryption.

We implement Row Level Security (RLS) on all database tables — each household's data is strictly isolated and inaccessible to other households.

We do not store payment card information. Payment processing (when applicable) is handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant processor.

6. Children's Privacy

Fammetry is designed as a family tool where parents/guardians manage all accounts. Children do not create accounts directly — their profiles are created and managed by the household administrator.

We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) for US users and the UK Age Appropriate Design Code. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.

Child profile data is used solely to operate the service and is never shared with third parties or used for marketing.

10. Cookies

Fammetry uses only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking, advertising, or third-party analytics cookies. No cookie consent banner is required as we only use strictly necessary cookies.
